HIRE THIS GUY!

Originally, I had I had contacted an inspector that my realtor had recommended. This, to me, is an inherent conflict of interest, but like so many people, I decided to go against my instincts and use this man. I was concerned, however, when there was no paperwork to complete and when I asked if he was part of the home inspector's associations, the woman on the phone said "yes, he's been doing this for years!" Not a great answer.
So, instead, I signed up for an Angie's list account and found Greg. Greg answered my call immediately and sent me all the paperwork he needed to get started. Good sign.
The paperwork consisted of a thorough contract, and some other forms. He also included a very concise per-inspection checklist - which he uses to get started on his work before he even arrives at the property. This checklist also helped us communicate to the realtor that all utilities needed to be on and accessible so that his inspection was complete. Very good sign.
I did not get the pleasure of meeting him in person, as I was far away from the subject property at the time of inspection. But I sent my sister in my stead, and he went over the entire report with her. She asked lots of questions and he spent the time needed to thoroughly answer them.
My report was detailed and concise - and he looked at EVERYTHING. He followed up with mailing me a disc full of photos, which is very helpful when you are not nearby.
In short, hire this guy. He's exactly the kind of person you want in your corner when judging the safety and soundness of you home.

RECOMMENDED!

In Depth Home Inspection LLC (Greg) came recommended to me by my realtor. I have had varied experiences with inspectors in the past, and had a skeptical opinion of the industry as a result. I met with Greg and was instantly put to ease by his knowledge, temperament and background. He was very organized, extremely thorough, and encouraged me to take part in his work to make sure I understood what he was doing, why he was doing it and what the results of his inspection meant. He gave me referrals to contractors he has knowledge of (to help with remedies) and followed up after the report to make sure I understood everything. The report was very thorough, clear and concise. It was delivered the day after the inspection. Lots of pictures to make it easy to understand and locate the problems. The price was less than I have paid in the past and the service was the best I have experienced. I will enthusiastically refer In Depth Home Inspections to anybody.

A+ Service

We called and phone interviewed many home inspectors. Greg, the inspector we used, was the one who impressed us the most. He took the time to explain the process, the reports, what to look for in an inspector (not all do the same thing), and did not pressure us to use him. Once my wife and I got off the phone, we discussed using his services and instantly called him back. He got us scheduled the very next day. The price was right. The service before and after was great. Very friendly individual, breaking down the issues found into terms that we could understand. As for the finished product, we received the reports the same day via email and the next day the hard copy came in the mail. He even emailed our realtor with the reports, at our request. The reports came with color pictures and clear descriptions of the issues of the home. There was no problem understanding what was going on with the home we were buying. Definitely A+ Service

Recommend

New Construction home needed to be inspected as builders are not always able to check sub-contractors work. From the beginning conversation with Greg his professional attitude and attention to detail impressed us. True to his word he showed up actually early and found several items that needed repair, from electrical, to windows that would not lock or close properly, plumbing mistakes, grade issues etc. His inspection allowed us to present a repair list to our builder prior to closing. We would never ever buy a house again without a inspection and most certainly would not hesitate to call Greg to do it. I don't usually do reviews however, his work, attitude, and helpfulness warranted a word.
